Our programs on Sunday mornings are designed to provide relevant, sound, exciting Biblical teaching.

Nursery

Your child is special to us, and it is our desire to not only provide excellent childcare so you may attend church, but to share Jesus with your babies. Qualified, loving and caring workers staff our nursery.  Our desire is to provide the most caring and secure environment possible as we teach about God’s love. I have seen the value in teaching my own children the word of God from birth. If you have any questions, suggestions, or would like to serve in our nursery, please feel free to contact Angelina Tharp, our coordinator

Preschool

In our Preschool Department, we have an amazing team of dedicated teachers, a group of wiggly, noisy, loveable children, as well as parents (and grandparents!) who are committed to leading these children into God’s family, and an awesome God looking down on all of this with a big smile on his face!

Our classes for two, three, and four-year olds focus on the simplicity of the Gospel by means of Story Time, Worship Time, and Fellowship Time. The children will learn a Bible story, do a craft project that reinforces what they have learned, have a time of worship, eat snack, and visit the playground.

This fall, we will be continuing with our “In the Beginning” curriculum, which your children have enjoyed over the past year. We will be focusing on adding a worship and music aspect to the second hour of services as well.

Though we currently have a complete team of teachers, we can always use parents as subs or helpers, so please let us know if you are interested in being involved with our team.

Elementary K-4th

Cross Training Sunday morning programs offer Biblical teaching with variety and spice for children in grades K-4 at both our 9:00am and10:30am services. We offer a different program each hour, so parents can attend a Sunday School class and the Worship Service without your children getting “bored.”

The goal of our Sunday morning education program is to teach God’s word in such a way that when a child leaves children’s ministry they would know Jesus as their personal Savior, would know that they are a valued member of the Grace Bible community, and they would possess a Biblical worldview.

Our elementary students will continue to learn in our workshop-based program, which is a format that allows students to experience “known” Bible stories at a much deeper level. As part of a mixed-age small group of ten to fifteen children, your child will study the same Bible story for four weeks, learning about it through different fun avenues such as drama, music, science, art, games, and even food. If they attend both services for all four weeks, they will experience six different hour-long workshops relating to the story plus one section on prayer and one on missions. The point is to allow children to learn and apply the story in new ways. The theme for the year is “Witness to God’s Presence.” We will be studying such stories as creation, Exodus, the Lord’s Prayer, and Paul’s conversion. In all, we will focus on ten stories from September to June.

This system allows volunteers to use their own gifts in the ways that they are best and most joyfully used. There are so many parts to this; we could use you in whatever way you feel led to serve. Would you like to work with a group of kids in the kitchen on Sunday morning? Are you a shopper and able to help pick up supplies or keep an eye out for special props? Would you like to be involved in a prayer team? Are you able to help every Sunday and would like to just get to know a small group of kids and pray for and encourage them? There are so many ways that you can be a part of this ministry, and I am looking forward to working with you! Please feel free to contact me, Shannon Freeby, our Elementary coordinator.

Check-in and Check-out

Nursery- please check-in your child at the nursery counter, and obtain a name tag, claim card, and a silent pager.  Please place the pager on your belt or in a pocket because in the unlikely event that we need to contact you regarding your child, your pager will vibrate.  Please respond quickly by coming to the nursery counter if your pager vibrates.  After the service, please pick up your child immediately. Return the pager to the greeter and use your claim card to check-out your child.  Make sure you have all of your child’s belongings.  For the safety of your child, we will not allow an adult to pick up your child without the claim card. Please also make sure you check your child in and out through the check- in window. Please do not walk into the nursery.

Preschool- please check-in your child at the children’s ministries window and obtain a name tag and claim card for your child.  After the service, please pick up your child immediately after checking them out by scanning their claim card at the children’s ministries window.

First through fourth grade- please check-in your child at the children’s ministries window and obtain a name tag for your child. After the service, please pick up your child immediately. If you attend first service only, please have you or your child return to the check-in window so we can check them out of the system as you leave.  If you leave without checking out and there is an emergency, our teachers might panic thinking they are missing a child.
